Through Conduit Double Expanding Gate Valve

PCV through conduit double expanding gate valve is a developed version of the slab gate valve indeed, and Instead of one “slab,” the disc of this type will be equipped with a two-segment disk with a matching double slope shaped interface.These slopes faces are made to cause the expansion of the gate in both open and closed position to play his rule for opening or closing the valve. The two halves of the gate are interlinked and engaged so that they move apart when they are being slid into the fully open or fully closed positions. Still, they are free of friction in the intermediate position during the disc stroke to avoid wearing of sealing surfaces.

Double expanding valves and its distinctive wedge mechanism provides tight seal and isolation on both upstream and downstream seating surfaces even at low-pressure levels.

The specific design of this type of valve guarantees to function as bi-directional as well as the slab gate type. Pigs and scrapers required for testing and cleaning of Pipelines can be run through this type of valve without any damage to the valve and equipment.

PCV Through Conduit Double Expanding Gate Valve also provides a double block and bleed (DBB) feature. It is functionality achieved within one single valve assembly, as opposed to the two conventional slab gates that would otherwise be required.

Valve Acting Basic

PCV Through Conduit Gate Valves are designed and manufactured with the rising-stem to provide the floating movement of the gate. While the valve is under Service, the service fluid will fill the bore cavity. The fluid pressure in the bore cavity makes a vertical force to the Stem that pushes the trim from bottom to top, then, in case of emergency, this force will be used to assist the actuator spring to bring the valve’s gate to the specified failure mode position

Standard Acting type

In the valve that is designed as Standard acting Through Conduit Gate, while the Stem/gate downwards the valve will be closed, and it is common for fail to open configuration, as the force of fluid to Stem and trim assists the actuator to open the valve.

Reverse Acting type

In the valve that is designed as Reverse Acting Through Conduit Gate, while the Stem/gate upwards, the valve will be opened, and it is common for the fail to close configuration, As the force of fluid to Stem and trim assists the actuator to close the valve.
